Revelation

21

1AND I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away; and the sea was no more. 2And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a great voice from heaven saying, Look, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will live with them, and they will be his people, and the very God will be with them and be their God; 4And he will wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there will not be death any longer, nor sorrow nor wailing, nor will there be pain any longer; for the former things have passed away. 5And he who sat on the throne said, Look, I make all things new. Then he said to me, Write! For these are the trustworthy and true words of God. 6And he said to me, I am Aleph and Tau, the beginning and the end. I will freely give of the fountain of living water to him who is thirsty. 7He who overcomes will inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he will be my son. 8But as for the fearful and the unbelieving and the sinful and the abominable and murderers and those who commit adultery and magicians and idolaters and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the 2nd death.

9And 1 of the 7 angels came to me, who had the 7 bowls full of the 7 last plagues, and he talked with me, saying, Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb. 10And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11Having the glory of God, radiant as a brilliant light, resembling a very precious gem, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. 12It had a wall great and high and it had 12 gates, with names inscribed on them, which are the names of the 12 tribes of the children of Israel. 13On the east were 3 gates, on the north 3 gates, on the south 3 gates, and on the west 3 gates. 14And the wall of the city had 12 foundations, and on them the 12 names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb. 15And he who talked with me had a measuring rod of golden reed to measure the city and its gates and its wall. 16And the city was laid 4-square, the length the same as the breadth; and he measured the city with the reed, 12 furlongs, 12,000 paces. And the length and breadth and the height were equal. 17And he measured the wall, 144 cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. 18And the wall was constructed of jasper; and the city itself was pure gold, resembling clear glass. 19And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The 1st foundation was jasper, the 2nd sapphire, the 3rd chalcedony, the 4th emerald, 20The 5th sardonyx, the 6th sardius, the 7th chrysolyte, the 8th beryl, the 9th topaz, the 10th chrysoprasus, the 11th jacinth, the 12th amethyst. 21And the 12 gates were adorned with 12 pearls, 1 for each of the gates, and each gate was made of a single pearl; and the great street of the city was of pure gold, as it were transparent glass. 22But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23The city has no need of the sun, nor of the moon, to shine in it, for the glory of God brightens it and the Lamb is the lamp of it. 24And the people who have been saved will walk by that very light; and the kings of the earth will bring their own glory and the honor of the peoples into it. 25And the gates of it will not be barred by day, for there is no night there. 26And they will bring the glory and the honor of the peoples into it. 27And there will not enter into it anything which defiles nor he who works abominations and lies; only those will enter whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
